Engagement ring gets crushed

This small, blurry cameraphone photo shows Emily’s engagement ring, after it got caught between the Wiimote and the kitchen table. Erik, her husband was there to witness another enthusiastic bowler lose themselves in the game and forget they were in the kitchen. (Wii in the kitchen? Why not!)

Erik reports: “While playing the Wii Sports bowling game, my wife swung her arm back. Hard. Unfortunately, behind her was our kitchen table. Fortunately, she didn’t break anything (bruised and pained, yes, but not broken)…but her engagement ring has seen better days. It’s being Wiipaired now.”

So, what damage to the ring?
“The sapphire in the middle chipped and the ring totally bent into an oval”
Wow, that must have made it difficult to take off…
“It was VERY difficult”
That sounds like a costly clash - what is your ‘Wiipair’ bill looking like?
“It’s estimated to be only 21 dollars. We’ll see when we get it back”

Phew! What could have ranked up there with the TV repair bills of the rich and sweaty turns out to be fairly modest this time round. You got away lightly there Emily. (But these puns are getting Wiily Wiily bad!).

Well maybe her husband shouldn’t of bought her such a cheap engagement ring? I mean come on a sapphire? Factory made no less, that ring couldn’t of been more than $20.

your finger would have probably been hurt alot worse if the ring wasnt on. rings are repairble with out too much pain to the wallet compared to drs bills and copay fees.

its like the girl who got upset cause she fell and broke her hair clip, it broke her fall, she would have had a concusion if it wasnt for the clip absorbing some of the shock against the ground. (2$ clip vs. brain hemmorage, easy choice in my book)

and ChronosWing you shouldnt mock other peoples engagement rings or other item similar. who cares if it was not an expensive ring, its the love behind it that counts not the price. some people prefer them to be less expensive, and other buy less expensive ones in addition to the real ones so that if it gets lost damaged or stolen it will only be 100 vs 10,000$. others cant afford a real nice ring at the time and will wait till a few years of marriage to buy them if at all. if i got a 2$ ring from my boyfreind i would be just as happy with it if it were an 10,000$ ring.

Hey there Chronosring, my wife’s enagagement ring is platinum, and its bends if you look at it wrong. Especially the back part of the ring itself. Sorry that we all can’t get our jewelry on QVC. Or, are you mad that you can’t afford a Wii? Too bad you spent all your money on TMX Elmos thinking you could resell them on eBay for $1,000 each But, I do find your ignorance refreshing.

The extent of involvement with wii gets highlighted, once, again. It is fortunate that not a more expensive item was ruined but at times sentiments with a ring can be more expensive.
