Wii makes a big impression

Let that be a lesson to you son! Nintendo go to great lengths to tell you to keep your distance from their totally absorbing games but here we’re seeing the whole family get drawn in, with painful consequences.

Picture the scene. It’s Thanksgiving down at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the family have got together to celebrate. Parents are doing their usual boring ‘chatting’ and to keep the kids amused they’ve found the perfect toy. The next generation Wii games console.
Enter the main charaters:

There’s Joey Connors - he’s the older brother, and the guy who got in touch with us.
There’s Jacob - he’s Joey’s younger brother, and at aged 8 he wasn’t going to be the first to get a turn.
Then there’s The cousin. ~~We don’t know his name~~ HER name is Abby (thanks for putting me straight there Joey), and she was clearly ‘in the zone’ during an intense game of Wii Baseball. Not realising that Jacob was moving slowly into the field of play, she took a massive swing at the ball and landed the remote right between Jacob’s eyes.

Hey ~~Cousin~~ Abby - I think a public apology is in order. We want to see a smile back on Jacob’s face. Feel free to make use of the comments.

Here at Wii Damage we’re always pleased to be bringing families back together. And kids, maybe let the youngest go first next time.

Update: For the record, Abby didn’t actually let go of the Wii remote - Jacob just wandered into the line of fire. So, no broken straps, no butterfingers, no reason to insult anyone in fact. Just smile at this next photo.

Looks like all’s forgiven and Jacob is back to his ol’ crazy self. “Only Wii can do this!”.

omg. This is the funnniest site I have ever seen. I feel bad for the kid but omg. I would love to see how you were playing the Wii that you threw the controller hard enough to impale your t.v. Wow! that’s some story. You know, as much as I feel bad for poor little Jacob getting his forehead dented, I’m glad to see that he and his cousin got to learn this lesson in the livingroom and not on baseball diamond.
I saw the exact same thing happen to a friend in grade 7. The only difference was he got smacked in the nose with an aluminum bat instead of a Wiimote. He got to spend the summer waiting for his reconstructed nose to heal.

If I scroll down and see all these things broken I can only say one thing: STUPID. You shouuldn’t swing your WiiMote with 30km/h or Bowl like it’s a matter of life or death. Just play it easily and smooth and nothing will happen…

Yeah, I don’t understand why/how people are letting go of their remotes either lol. I have been playing plenty of Wii and have not even had a close call with this, then my friend comes over and the controller “slips” and the strap breaks and my controller ends up putting a dent in the wall. WHY DO PEOPLE SWING SO HARD IF THEY CAN’T HOLD ONTO THE REMOTE? People need to learn their limits and the limits if the system before they blow out a shoulder or something
